Wise Yoda! He's not going to listen to those with less insight, less wisdom, less data. He is going to trust that he already knows what he needs to know. In the end, he will bear the responsibility for his decisions and therefore will have to make those decisions himself, not letting others sway him. When all is said and done, “but they told me...” is no excuse at all. You have to make your own decisions, choose your own path and keep your own counsel.
Breathe Life into Your Purpose: When a purpose is blunted, barriers appear in your path. Once the purpose is revitalized, these barriers will vanish, disappear. But we're talking about your purpose here, not your job. You may not be working at your purpose. Many are not. How do you breathe life into your job as a brick-layer?You don't. You realize, in quiet moments of reflection,that you wanted to be a diamond polisher and then you seek that position. Your purpose is yours and makes you alive with enthusiasm.Those who follow their dreams are filled with the zest of life. Those who follow what they ought to do per some other person's dictates, are miserable their whole lives. There is a play, a darkly funny play, in which one of the characters is both a doctor and a lawyer. His mother wanted a doctor and his father wanted a lawyer. In order to make them happy, he attended medical school, then law school. His friend asks, “How do you feel now that you're a doctor and a lawyer?” “Exhausted!” he replies. You will not be happy fulfilling some other purpose, set by someone else. You will only be happy fulfilling your own purpose, achieving your own goals.
